Enmax
ENMAX Corporation and it predecessor, The Calgary Electric System, have provided electricity to the City of Calgary and surrounding area for over 100 years. ENMAX supplies services to more than half a million customers and has over 1,200 employees in Alberta.
ENMAX has built a reputation as the leader in clean energy. ENMAX Energys Greenmax was one of the first green power marketing programs in Canada, and celebrates its 10th anniversary in 2008. The combined generation from green power sources will give ENMAX a total output of 600,000 megawatt hours of emission-free electricity per year, or enough to power the equivalent of 75,000 homes.
ENMAX Green Power Ltd. wholly owns the Taber Wind Farm, ENMAXs latest wind energy venture, and a 50% interest in the McBride Lake Wind Farm, located near Fort Macleod in southern Alberta. The projects are supported by the federal government's Wind Power Production Incentive (WPPI) program.
ENMAX is actively testing and implementing new technologies to help customers consume energy in a way that saves them money and reduces their environmental impact.
